Jersey’s biggest political party has brought forward a comprehensive ‘Housing Crisis Action Plan’, to be debated by the States Assembly as an amendment to the government’s proposed ‘Common Strategic Policy’.

Reform Jersey has expressed serious concern over the independence of the proposed new Rent Control Tribunal, following the news that the Housing Minister intends to nominate the chairman of the Jersey Landlords Association (JLA) to sit as a member.

Deputy Sam Mézec was re-elected as Reform Jersey Party Leader at the Annual General Meeting held at the Assembly Room in the Town Hall on Wednesday 10 August. Helen Evans was elected as Party Chairperson, succeeding Lyndsay Feltham, who stepped down from the role following her election as Deputy for St Helier Central in the June election as party rules require the role to be held by someone who is not a States Member.
