States approves gay marriage law.

Nearly three and a half years after Reform Jersey's Chairman first lodged a proposition to legalise same sex marriage the States have finally passed a law that will enable same sex marriages to take place starting this year.

An earlier amendment to introduce a 'tolerance' clause, which would have enabled some businesses to refuse to serve gay couples, was defeated.
